A different kind of Lanterne Rouge

At the 32nd Marine Corps Marathon tomorrow, the last official finisher will be presented the "Paul the Penguin Award", acknowledging the hard work and dedication required from every marathon finisher. The award was started in 2006 by Major Megan McClung at the MCM satellite race at the Al Asad air base in the Al Anbar province of Iraq. Since she was killed in action in Iraq, the tradition has been carried forward by her parents.

Happy news

Former Lanterne Rouge Sebastian Joly is back on the bike and regaining his legs after being treated for a tumor earlier this year. (He was Lanterne Rouge for nine stages of the 2006 Tour). We're very glad to hear it and hope to see him winning seven Tours de France in coming years!

Jimmy "Class Clown" Casper

Class clown seems to be the role for two-time Lanterne Rouge Jimmy Casper at lame duck team Unibet, at least according to teammate Baden Cooke.

Or make that "one part showman, three parts world-class sprinter".
